Should I serialize a book on Substack?
Hello all,
I hope you enjoyed the James Bond documentary I shared in the previous update. Today, I’d like to ask for your advice on this blog’s next direction.
A few years ago, I serialized a FREE book, Kool Stuff, on this blog. I’d like to try that again, but as a premium book. For the past several months, I’ve been working on an oral history of first-person shooters from the 1990s. The book currently stands at nearly 200,000 words and will eclipse that number once it’s finished. I guarantee you will not find a more comprehensive book on this subject!
My question for you today is: Would you pay $5/month to read my next work? By paying to read the book, you would 1) help me fund its publication as a proper book (paperback, hardcover, audio, etc.) later on, and 2) receive a FREE pdf/epub once the book is published.
