24 ‘Til Launch

Seven years ago, I had an idea: What if I and a film crew went to a video game studio 24 hours before a game’s launch to document the process of making the game and finding out what remained in the hours before release? The result was 24 ‘Til Launch: Pillars of Eternity II, which you can watch here.

On October 22, we released the second episode — 24 ‘Til Launch: Borderlands 4. Shacknews video editor Greg Burke and I visited Gearbox Software the day before BL4 launched to talk to studio boss Randy Pitchford and several developers about making the game and sending it out into the world.
